Central Market
The modern Central Market or Pasar Payang as it is known among the locals, is located by the Terengganu River. The market offers a rich variety of traditional handicrafts such as batik, silk, songket, brocade and brassware, as well as fresh produce.

Desa Craft
An interesting handicraft centre, Desa Craft showcases songket, brassware and batik, among others. The centre was developed by the State Economic Development Corporation as part of the effort to promote Kuala Terengganu as a popular tourist destination.

Istana Maziah
Built in 1897 to replace the Istana Hijau burned down during World War II, Istana Maziah is the venue for royal birthdays, weddings, conferment of titles and receptions for local and foreign dignitaries. The palace boasts a perfect blend of splendid modern and traditional architectures.

State Museum Complex
The Terengganu State Museum Complex consists of a Main Museum, a Maritime Museum, a Fisheries Museum, 4 traditional houses and botanic and herbs gardens. The Main Museum is built on 16 stilts, in accordance with the traditional architecture of Terengganu. Its 4 blocks are adjoined, to represent a big family. There are 10 galleries showcasing textiles, crafts, historical, royal, nature, art, petroleum, Islamic, new generation and contemporary arts.

Kenyir Lake
Reputedly one of the world's largest and most fascinating man-made lakes in the world, the 369 sq km Kenyir Lake is located about 55 km from the state capital Kuala Terengganu. Kenyir Lake is also the country's largest rock-filled hydroelectric dam with 340 islets. The crystal clear water here is home to a wide variety of fresh water fish. Accommodation in the form of houseboats, floating chalets and lakeside resorts are available here.

LA Hot Springs
The LA Hot Springs in Besut boasts a water temperature ranging from 45 deg to 49 deg Celsius. The hot water here contains natural sulphur said to have healing properties for skin ailments.
